You can't defy the law of gravity but there is another law...

The law of gravity, a fundamental force of nature, holds us firmly to the Earth's surface. It's a force we can't defy. Yet, in the realm of science and human innovation, another law exists, one that allows us to soar above the Earth—the law of aerodynamics. Beyond its physical application in aviation, this law offers profound insights into the potential for growth, achievement, and transformation in our lives.

Understanding the Law of Aerodynamics

In the world of physics, aerodynamics deals with the study of the behavior of air as it interacts with solid objects, such as airplanes. It explains how, by generating lift, aircraft can overcome the force of gravity and take flight. In essence, the law of aerodynamics demonstrates that with the right knowledge, tools, and effort, we can defy gravity and reach new heights.

Setting Our Sights on New Horizons

Much like an airplane taking off, our lives often require us to set our sights on new horizons. We may face obstacles that seem insurmountable, but the principles of aerodynamics teach us that, with the right mindset and strategies, we can lift off from the ground of mediocrity and soar toward our aspirations.

Lift: The Force of Purpose

In the world of aviation, lift is the force that opposes gravity and allows an aircraft to ascend. In life, purpose serves as our lift. When we discover our true purpose and align our actions with it, we experience a powerful force that propels us forward. Purpose ignites our passion and provides the energy needed to overcome challenges.

Thrust: The Power of Persistence

Thrust, in aviation, is the force that propels an aircraft forward. In life, persistence plays a similar role. It's the continuous effort and determination that pushes us toward our goals. Just as an airplane requires sustained thrust to maintain its velocity, we need persistence to propel us toward success.

Drag: The Weight of Negativity

Drag, in aerodynamics, is the resistance encountered by an aircraft as it moves through the air. In life, negativity and self-doubt can act as a drag, slowing our progress and making our journey more challenging. Recognizing and minimizing drag is crucial for achieving our desired altitude.

Balance: Navigating Life's Turbulence

Aircraft must maintain balance and stability in flight, even in turbulent conditions. Similarly, in life, we encounter challenges and setbacks. The ability to maintain balance, adapt, and stay focused on our goals is essential for overcoming adversity and achieving our dreams.

Conclusion

The law of aerodynamics reminds us that while we cannot defy the law of gravity, we possess the innate capacity to rise above it through knowledge, purpose, persistence, and adaptability. In the vast expanse of life's possibilities, we are the pilots of our destiny. By harnessing the principles of aerodynamics as metaphors for personal and professional growth, we can lift ourselves to new heights, soar toward our dreams, and navigate life's journey with confidence and resilience. Just as airplanes break free from gravity's grasp, so too can we break free from the constraints that hold us back and reach for the skies of our limitless potential.

Life is Just Systematic

Life is a magnificent interplay of systems, from the intricacies of the human body to the pursuit of our goals and dreams. Much like the rhythmic beating of our hearts, the systematic nature of existence underscores the importance of consistency in everything we do.

Imagine for a moment that the heart, a marvel of biological engineering, decided to take a break from its systematic pumping. Chaos would ensue. Our bodies depend on the heart's relentless rhythm to deliver oxygen and nutrients to every cell, ensuring our survival. The heart's commitment to consistency is a testament to the vital role it plays in our lives.

Much like the heart, our pursuit of personal development and growth relies on consistency. Whether it's learning a new skill, adopting healthy habits, or nurturing relationships, progress often hinges on persistent effort. Consistency in practice and learning allows us to build expertise, develop character, and become the best versions of ourselves.

Success in any endeavor is rarely achieved through sporadic bursts of effort. Instead, it is the consistent, systematic approach that yields results. Consider athletes who train rigorously day in and day out, or writers who diligently put pen to paper. These individuals understand that achieving greatness requires unwavering commitment to their craft.

Habits, whether positive or negative, are the embodiment of life's systematic nature. They are formed through repetitive actions and become ingrained in our daily routines. Harnessing the power of positive habits can be transformative, leading to improved health, increased productivity, and a more fulfilling life.

Life is replete with challenges, and consistency becomes a powerful ally in overcoming them. When faced with adversity, individuals who persistently work towards solutions often find success. They adapt, learn, and persevere, navigating the ups and downs with resilience.

The systematic approach to life has a ripple effect, influencing not only our individual well-being but also our impact on the world around us. Our consistent efforts to improve ourselves and contribute positively to society can inspire others to do the same, creating a harmonious and interconnected world.

Life is, indeed, systematic, and its rhythms underscore the importance of consistency. From the beating heart that sustains us to the pursuit of our dreams and goals, the thread of systematic effort weaves through every facet of our existence. As we navigate the journey of life, let us remember that it is our dedication to consistency that often determines our success and fulfillment. Embrace the systematic nature of life, harness its power, and watch as your efforts yield remarkable results, both for yourself and for the world around you.

What does the Bible say about this?

Luke 14:28-30 ESV

For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it? Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.’

Habakkuk 2:2-3 ESV

And the Lord answered me: Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. 3 For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end--it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 ESV

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; ...

  1. 1 Corinthians 14:33 (NIV): "For God is not a God of disorder but of peace—as in all the congregations of the Lord’s people."

This verse speaks to the idea that God is a God of order and not chaos, emphasizing the systematic and orderly nature of His divine plan.

  2. Psalm 139:16 (NIV): "Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."

This verse suggests that our lives are planned and ordained by God, indicating a systematic and preordained nature to our existence.

  3. Proverbs 16:9 (NIV): "In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps."

This verse highlights the interplay between human planning and God's guidance, illustrating a systematic alignment of our actions with God's purpose.

  4. Romans 8:28 (NIV): "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

This verse conveys the idea that God orchestrates events in life for the ultimate good of those who follow His purpose, suggesting a systematic unfolding of His divine plan.

In these verses, we see biblical references that depict life as systematic, with events and activities occurring in an orderly manner according to God's design and purpose. These passages encourage believers to trust in the systematic unfolding of God's plan for their lives and to seek guidance and peace in His orderliness.

How to set standards

Setting personal standards and values is a deeply personal and introspective process that is often shaped by a multitude of factors. While cultural norms, family upbringing, and personal experiences play significant roles, for many individuals, spirituality, and faith hold a paramount influence on the development of their moral compass. In this article, we delve into the three key spiritual factors that can profoundly impact how individuals set their personal standards.

Revelation from God

Many individuals draw inspiration and guidance from their spiritual beliefs. Whether it's through prayer, meditation, or religious texts, people often seek revelations and insights from a higher source or deity. These revelations can provide a moral framework that informs their values and standards

Spiritual Maturity and Growth

Spiritual maturity is a journey that often accompanies personal growth within one's faith or belief system. As individuals deepen their spiritual understanding, they may reevaluate their values and standards. This process can involve a heightened sense of empathy, compassion, and a desire to live in accordance with their faith's teachings.

Spiritual maturity may lead to a greater emphasis on forgiveness, humility, and selflessness. It encourages individuals to transcend materialistic desires and focus on the well-being of others, thus shaping their standards to reflect these spiritual principles.

Your Calling

Many people believe they have a unique calling or purpose in life, often perceived as a divine assignment. This sense of calling can strongly influence the values and standards individuals choose to uphold. They may see their life's purpose as aligning with certain moral imperatives or principles dictated by their faith.

For instance, individuals who feel called to serve others may set high standards for altruism and compassion. Those who believe they are called to leadership roles may emphasize integrity, honesty, and accountability in their personal standards, recognizing their responsibility to others.

Conclusion
In the intricate tapestry of human values and standards, spirituality plays a significant and often transformative role. From divine revelations to spiritual maturity and a sense of calling, these factors provide a compass that guides individuals in setting their personal standards. It's important to remember that spiritual influences can vary greatly among different belief systems, and what holds true for one person may differ for another. Nonetheless, the impact of spirituality on personal standards is undeniable, contributing to the rich diversity of ethical frameworks that shape our world.

Because it is a new day

The journey of life is filled with an array of emotions, circumstances, and motivations that often dictate our actions and decisions. There are days when we are brimming with enthusiasm, ready to conquer the world, and then there are those when we'd rather stay in bed and avoid the world altogether. But amidst this ever-changing emotional landscape, there's something powerful about choosing consistency. It's the unwavering commitment to certain actions, not because we always feel like it, but because it's a new day and that, in itself, is reason enough to keep going.

The Power of Consistency

Consistency is the bedrock upon which success is built. While the idea of doing something every single day may seem daunting, it's precisely this commitment that fosters personal growth, resilience, and lasting change. Whether it's pursuing a passion, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, or achieving professional goals, consistency is the secret sauce that transforms ordinary actions into extraordinary results.

Breaking the Shackles of Motivation

Many of us are familiar with the concept of motivation. It's that surge of energy and excitement that propels us into action. However, motivation is often fleeting. It comes and goes like the tides, leaving us stranded when it recedes. Relying solely on motivation to guide our actions is a risky strategy. What if you're not motivated today? Does that mean you should postpone your dreams or neglect your responsibilities? Certainly not.

Consistency, on the other hand, operates independently of motivation. It is the discipline to show up and do the work, whether you're feeling the fire of enthusiasm or the chill of indifference. Consistency acknowledges that feelings are fickle and unreliable guides for our actions. Instead, it embraces the idea that the act of doing something consistently, even when you don't feel like it, eventually shapes your character and leads to long-term success.

The Importance of Each New Day

Each new day is a fresh opportunity. It's a chance to start anew, regardless of what happened yesterday. This is precisely why the concept of "I do it because it is a new day" is so powerful. It encapsulates the idea that every sunrise is a blank canvas waiting for you to paint your actions upon it. It's an acknowledgment that you have the power to shape your day, your life, and your future, irrespective of yesterday's triumphs or setbacks.

Building Habits and Skills

Consistency isn't just about willpower and determination; it's also about habit formation and skill development. When you commit to doing something every day, it becomes ingrained in your routine. Over time, this action transforms from a conscious effort into a natural habit. Whether it's writing, exercising, meditating, or any other pursuit, consistency helps you build these habits, which, in turn, become integral parts of your identity.

Furthermore, consistency sharpens your skills. The daily practice allows you to refine your abilities, hone your expertise, and achieve mastery in your chosen field. It's the steady accumulation of small efforts that culminate in significant accomplishments.

Conclusion

In a world where motivation ebbs and flows, and life's challenges can sometimes seem insurmountable, consistency is the anchor that keeps us grounded. Saying, "I do it because it is a new day," is a testament to the power of unwavering commitment and discipline. It's a reminder that you are in control of your actions and that every day is an opportunity to inch closer to your goals, regardless of your feelings.

So, the next time you're tempted to skip that workout, postpone that project, or give in to procrastination, remember the mantra of consistency. Embrace the idea that each new day is a chance to reinforce your commitment to your dreams and aspirations. Because, in the end, it's not just about feeling like it; it's about knowing that by doing it consistently, you are steadily shaping a brighter and more successful future for yourself.

The Vision is Correct but the Timimg is Wrong.

"The vision is correct, but the timing is wrong" encapsulates a profound truth that has been echoed throughout human history. It speaks to the idea that our goals, dreams, and aspirations may indeed be aligned with a greater purpose, but the manifestation of these visions may not always occur when we expect them to.

Divine Timing in the Bible

Abraham and Sarah's Long-Awaited Promise:

In the book of Genesis, we encounter the story of Abraham and Sarah. God had promised them a child, but as time passed, their faith was tested. Sarah was well past her childbearing years, and the fulfillment of the promise seemed impossible. However, in due course, in the fullness of God's timing, Sarah bore a son, Isaac. This narrative highlights the significance of divine timing, showing that God's plans are always fulfilled, even if they do not align with our human schedules.

Joseph's Journey to Leadership:

The story of Joseph in the book of Genesis is another poignant example of divine timing. Joseph's early visions of leadership and greatness were met with adversity. He was sold into slavery, imprisoned, and faced numerous challenges. However, through a series of events orchestrated by God, Joseph eventually rose to a position of power in Egypt. His vision was correct, but the timing was not what he initially expected. His trials prepared him for a greater purpose.

The Prophetic Timing of Jesus' Birth and Ministry:

The Bible also offers a profound example of divine timing in the birth and ministry of Jesus Christ. Centuries of prophecies had foretold the coming of the Messiah, and when the time was right, Jesus was born. His arrival brought hope, salvation, and a new covenant to humanity. Jesus began his ministry around the age of 30, at a specific point in history, demonstrating that God's timing is always perfect, even if it may seem long-awaited to those who anticipate it.

Lessons for Today

Trust in Divine Timing:

The Bible teaches us to trust in the divine timing of our lives. Just as Abraham, Sarah, Joseph, and Jesus had to wait for the fulfillment of their visions, we too must have faith that God's plans are unfolding as they should, even if it takes longer than we expect.

Patience and Perseverance:

The stories in the Bible remind us that divine timing often involves periods of testing and adversity. These challenges are not roadblocks but stepping stones toward the fulfillment of our visions. Like Joseph and Jesus, we must persevere through difficulties, knowing that God is preparing us for something greater.

Surrender to God's Plan:

The phrase "The vision is correct, but the timing is wrong" invites us to surrender our own timelines and plans to a higher purpose. It encourages us to align our lives with God's will and trust that His timing is always perfect.

Conclusion

The Bible provides a rich tapestry of stories that underscore the importance of divine timing. It teaches us that our visions and dreams, when aligned with God's purpose, are never in vain, even if they do not materialize when we expect them to. Just as Abraham, Sarah, Joseph, and Jesus found that their visions were ultimately fulfilled in God's time, we too can draw strength from these timeless lessons of patience, perseverance, and trust in the divine plan. In the end, our faith and steadfastness will lead us to the realization that the vision is indeed correct, and the timing, in God's hands, is always right.

The Power of Learning from Experience: A Lesson from Mt. Kenya

Embarking on any new endeavor in life can be both exciting and daunting. Whether you're looking to start a business, begin a new chapter in your personal life, or undertake any challenging task, the thought of navigating uncharted waters can be overwhelming. In such moments, there's a valuable lesson to be learned from the world of mountaineering, particularly from the majestic Mt. Kenya. Just as one seeks guidance from those who have successfully climbed this iconic peak, so too can we learn from experienced individuals when starting a business, entering a marriage, or pursuing any other significant venture.

Learning from Mt. Kenya

Climbing a mountain like Mt. Kenya is no small feat. It requires careful planning, physical and mental preparation, and a deep understanding of the challenges that lie ahead. To many, the prospect of scaling this formidable peak might seem impossible, but those who have successfully reached its summit often share a common secret: they sought guidance from those who had gone before them.

Seek Guidance from the Experienced

When you decide to climb Mt. Kenya, the easiest and wisest approach is to talk to someone who has already accomplished this feat. Similarly, when you're about to embark on a new journey, whether it's starting a business, getting married, or anything else, seek guidance from individuals who have experience in that field.

Experienced mountaineers can provide invaluable insights about the best routes, necessary equipment, and potential hazards on the climb. In the same way, seasoned entrepreneurs can offer guidance on business plans, marketing strategies, and overcoming common challenges. Those in successful marriages can provide advice on communication, compromise, and maintaining a strong partnership.

Learn from Their Mistakes

Experienced climbers often have their share of stories about challenges they faced on the mountain. These stories serve as cautionary tales, helping aspiring climbers avoid making the same mistakes. Similarly, individuals who have experienced setbacks in business or relationships can provide valuable lessons on what not to do.

Mistakes are an inevitable part of any journey, but learning from the missteps of others can save you time, effort, and even heartache. Listening to the stories of those who have walked the path before you can help you navigate potential pitfalls more effectively.

Consider Partnering

One of the best ways to learn is by doing, and the same principle applies to climbing mountains or starting a business. Climbing alongside an experienced mountaineer can provide you with real-time guidance and support. Similarly, finding a mentor in your chosen field can be immensely beneficial.

A mentor can offer personalized advice, share their network of contacts, and help you develop the skills and knowledge needed to succeed. Just as climbing with an experienced mountaineer can make the ascent of Mt. Kenya more manageable, partnering with a mentor can greatly enhance your chances of success in your chosen endeavor

Conclusion

As we contemplate new challenges in life, we can draw inspiration from the world of mountaineering and the awe-inspiring Mt. Kenya. Whether you're starting a business, entering into a marriage, or venturing into any uncharted territory, remember that the easiest and most effective way to succeed is to seek guidance from those who have already made the journey.

By learning from their experiences, understanding their mistakes, and, when possible, partnering with a mentor, you can navigate the path ahead with greater confidence and resilience. Just as reaching the summit of Mt. Kenya is a remarkable achievement, accomplishing your own goals and dreams is equally attainable with the right guidance and support from those who have blazed the trail before you.

Bermuda; Things That Are Different From What I Was Used To.

Shops with Closed Doors: Bermuda's shopping culture is indeed distinctive. Many shops display banners indicating whether they are open or closed. One can think the shops are closed only to go at the door and find, 'Yes, we are open. Just pull/push the door'.

Absence of Snakes and Mosquitoes: Bermuda is known for its favorable climate, and one of the perks of living or visiting there is the absence of snakes and mosquitoes. This is a significant advantage for residents and tourists who can enjoy outdoor activities and the island's natural beauty without the nuisance of these pests.

Friendly Greetings: Bermudians are known for their warmth and hospitality. Saying "hi" or greeting people, even strangers, is a common practice on the island. It's a sign of the community's friendliness and openness, making visitors feel welcome and adding to the island's unique social charm. It's awkward for someone to just pass you.

Beautiful and Clean Beaches: Bermuda boasts some of the most stunning beaches in the world. The pink sand and crystal-clear waters make for a picturesque setting, and the commitment to keeping these beaches clean adds to the island's appeal as a top-notch tourist destination.

Compact Size: Bermuda is a relatively small territory, covering approximately 21 square miles. This compact size means you can easily explore the entire country from one end to the other within just one hour, making it convenient for tourists to experience a wide variety of attractions and activities in a short amount of time. Looks like a crocodile in shape, where from head to tail-tip it is ONLY like 39km. The part that has highest width is only 2km.

Efficient Public Transport: Bermuda's public transport system is known for its efficiency and predictability. Buses and ferries connect various parts of the island, making it convenient for both residents and tourists to get around. This accessibility enhances the overall travel experience on the island.

Social Equality: Bermuda has a strong sense of social equality, with minimal visible poverty. The absence of shanties and people sleeping hungry reflects the country's commitment to taking care of its citizens, particularly the elderly. This social safety net contributes to the island's overall sense of well-being and security. Life expectancy is also quite high and a 70 years old looks very strong!

Wealth Discreetness: In Bermuda, wealth is often understated. Unlike many places where the wealthy may flaunt their status through opulent houses or extravagant cars, Bermuda's affluent residents tend to blend in and it will be hard to define how wealthy a person is by the car they drive or the house they live in (there are no high-end cars btw! Those Lexus, Benz and such, naah). This cultural norm helps maintain a sense of social cohesion and avoids conspicuous displays of wealth.

The cost of living is crazy high. As of 2023, a one-bedroom outside the city averages $2000-2500/month. Health Insurance is $700/month/person (not a couple). A loaf of bread is $7-10. Now that gives you a picture.

Their currency is the Bermudan dollar. The funny bit is that 1 BMD is pegged to 1$ USD (1:1).

Motorbike drivers behave just like nduthi guys. Lol. Most accidents are caused by motorbike guys. Also the island is so small you get to know almost all the road accidents that happen.

The way they bury people in one grave. One grave can carry several people. It is a family grave that could be holding a family since the 1800s. Also, people are buried in churches.

The food tastes ooooodd! Super odd! The delicious meat, wheat, rice, sugar, and eggs I was used to tastes off over here, and does not excite my tongue. I now understand why they get a lot of foodstuff from back home.

The rich history;  I saw a church that was built in 1794 and still standing. The house we stayed in was built in the 1970s and is now managed by the grandson who was 52 years at 2023.

Long-lasting things; Be it houses, machines, utensils, and all that...everything is designed with the long term in mind.

Leaving the door open; You can leave your house open and no one will touch anything. You can sleep in total peace and naked with no door closed.

Taking care of grass;
Well the glass is 'pampered', weee...it is like a clean shave.

Living with a dog inside the house; All breeds of dogs are available and most live inside the house like part of the family.

Hurricanes;
A whole day with storms just like you can have the sun rising in the morning and setting at night. On September 14th, 2023 the storm started at 3 am and as I type this it is 12;56 am, 15th September 2023 and the storm has been running consistently without stopping. You can't even go out.

Car-Centric Roads; It seemed like when roads were being designed, nobody thought there would be a time when people would just be walking for leisure. There are no side walks.

Very Small Cars; Some electric cars are very small. Looks like a toy! Crazy.

Magnum are created for different sizes; I don't want to expound on this point! Let me leave it that. LoL.So let me leave it at that.

Weather; Summer; June-September, Fall; October-November, Winter; December-February; Spring; March-May.

The Sky; At times during sunrise and sunset, the sky is usually breathtaking.

Some places are better traveled than lived: This is very very subjective. I feel this place and most places in the West are better traveled than lived. Also, there is just something about where you were born especially if you have sweet memories about it.

Long days during summer where a day can extend until 9pm.

You can walk any time of the night without fearing for your security.

Salaries are quite high, just like the expenses are.

Only locals can own properties, for foreigners, there is no such a chance unless you have married a local.

You can't become a resident of Bermuda. Also, the island only has 65,000 people.

You don't need to live or relocate to Bermuda or any other country in the world to tap into the dollars.  You see before the internet, the only way people could have been able to tap into the West was via migrating. Nowadays, unless you are doing a physical job, you can work anywhere in the world.

In conclusion, Bermuda's charm lies in its unique blend of natural beauty, friendly people, efficient services, and a strong sense of community and social well-being. It's a destination that offers not just picturesque landscapes but also a warm and welcoming atmosphere that leaves a lasting impression on visitors.
